Dirt Joe the Peddler Girl
by Benjamin Bucholz

mangrove hair girl henna bright how old are you
old enough to answer man my father when American
who moveth steppeth earth & quarry star & sand & field
by goatherd flyswat sugar stains the lip a dainty tea
how girl here how how do you know we come ready ready
roar the deep & diesel engine oh the scream of gander
mule & dog set freely foaming mewling running stepping
leather feet on Babel stonework dust a saucy sparerib
gimme gimme water gimme money gimme pencil gimme
drink eat laugh write take take a picture smile your
mangrove hair girl henna bright now tell me how are you
